Introduction

 

Master of Business Administration and Business Analytics at The American University of Madaba (AUM) provides an in-depth approach to business education, with opportunities to engage in real-world projects, interact with the business community, and participate in an extensive network of professional development activities. Topics covered in the program represent various knowledge areas in business and management with an emphasis on business analytics. The program intends to study the latest theories and practices that enhance decision-making to improve business overall performance. The program also focuses on operations management, decision science, data management and quantitative analysis, by using a wide range of teaching methods including lectures, case studies, individual and team projects, and industrial guest speakers. Students are expected to graduate from this program with a strong ability to abstract, analyze business scenarios/situations to support decision-making for different types of decisions at the different managerial levels.

1- Program Aims :

 

AUM’s primary aims for offering MBA-business analytics are to develop the abilities of graduates to:

  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of organizational functions and departments.
  • Develop professional business proposals followed by applied plans.
  • Use technology to collect, process, and analyze business data in course of developing valuable business reports.
  • Implement quantitative and qualitative techniques to support problem-solving and decision-making in novel situations.
  • Conduct scientific research that seeks innovative use of business analytics tools and techniques.

Upon graduation, graduates are expected to be equipped with the following learning outcomes.

A3. Demonstrate the different types of data systems, models, and applications.

A4. Comprehend the different styles, frameworks, and processes of decision-making.

B1. Professionally write business proposals and project plans.

B2. Use various optimization, sub-optimization, and heuristic models to figure out the outcome of different courses of action.

B3. Apply sensitivity analysis to assess and define the best choice from a set of alternatives.

B4. Generate and design institutional and ad-hoc reports that give a comprehensive and detailed overview of business operations.

B5. Use of appropriate technology to gather data, analyze data and generate reports.
